Protocols to the FASRB

Framework Agreement on the Sava River Basin (FASRB) goes beyond the establishment of good grounds for cooperation in the region regarding the sustainable management of water resources, and from the international law point of view represents a pactum de contrahendo - the agreement on liability to conclude additional protocols.
Protocols to the FASRB have a significant role, regulating specific aspects of its implementation, with the aim to harmonize water management in the Sava River Basin in a comprehensive manner.

Aims at: regulation of the issues related to sustainable flood protection by means of prevention and/or reduction flood hazard, by undertaking appropriate measures and activities, along with adequate measures for the environment protection, along with preparation of a joint Flood Risk Management Plan, which defines the objectives of common interest on the basin level, measures to achieve these objectives, mechanisms of coordination and modes of joint cooperation in flood defense emergency situations.
