President of the Sava Youth Parliament attended the UN Regional Forum on Sustainable Development

We are proud to announce that Blaž Lipovšek, President of the Sava Youth Parliament, attended the UN Regional Forum on Sustainable Development, held in Geneva from March 13 to 14, 2024.
Blaž, as a panelist at the Peer Learning Round Table on SDG 13—Climate Action, represented not only the Sava Youth Parliament but also his entire generation. His voice echoed the concerns and aspirations of young people worldwide, emphasizing the importance of strengthening preparedness for climate extremes through multi-hazard early warning systems and holistic policies that simultaneously address biodiversity and climate crises.
In his speech, Blaž proudly presented the impactful work of the Sava Youth Parliament and the project Can You Hear Our Rivers? He highlighted the importance of youth engagement in international platforms, as many teenagers are eager to share their thoughts and ideas but often lack these opportunities. He expressed his belief that events like the UN Regional Forum would inspire more individuals to strive for nature conservation, particularly in protecting our crucial water resources.
The video of the Blaž’s panel speech is available at the UN web TV. (Blaž started at 39:30 min, aprox.), while the Report from the Regional Forum, written by Blaž, can be downloaded here.
